PROJECTS & INITIATIVES
Community Work
Wuttahminneoh Birth Work understands the importance of community and collaborations. Below you will find a few projects and initiatives created by Ahna Red Fox and her birth work network. Wuttahminneoh Birth Work has a few projects and initiatives created or that have been created or initiated by Ahna Red Fox:
Neetuonk Garden Project & Traditional Meal Train
A family garden project, created for birthing people and expecting families. This garden project feeds the Shinnecock community beginning at 6 weeks gestation, lasting through six weeks postpartum.
We believe that our community should have access to foods that directly connect them to ancestral knowledge. These recipes serve nourishment for creation, birthing and recovery.
Paumanok Breastfeeding Coalition
An Indigenous Breastfeeding Coalition based in Long Island, New York. Our mission is to reestablish relationships with the 13 Tribes of Long Island, while making breastfeeding friendly communities for the Indigenous population.
We believe in ‘community’ and reclaiming the bonds our ancestors once had with their relatives in neighboring ‘sister’ communities.
Partnerships & Collaborations
Wuttahminneoh Birth Work is currently working on several community-based partnerships that include workshops, support circles and resource building. If you’re interested in collaborating, please inquire via submitting a contact submission or email!
